Whoa There, Busy Bee!July 27th, 2008 @ 9:45:37 pm
Wow, I have been pretty busy since the last post. Basically, I’d been doing up layouts for a few fanlistings I’d been approved for (this, this, this, and this). I’ve also been to a few interviews for the past two weeks.
And then early this week, I’d been called by my friend, asking if I wanted to do web design for the bar at which she is doing graphic design for. I agreed, and have been going there daily for the entire day, doing their site. I can’t claim the design as mine (the previous designer was sacked for taking too long), but I coded it and sorts.
It’s really fun working at a bar, haha. They’re still in renovation state, but there was a little party for close friends of the boss/manager and stuff on the first of four comedy nights they had, just as a preview to how the place looks at the moment. I only had two beers and a glass of vodka and red bull, but I got a little tipsy. xD I felt so silly! Well, the bar’s going to look great once they’re done, I just know, haha. I’m definitely going to be at the soft launch. :D
On the second day that I was doing the web design, I got a call saying I was selected for a part time job as an Attractions Host at Sentosa, and would start on Tuesday. I accepted it, since I needed something else to do whilst still waiting to get a full time job. Plus, during the interview, he’d said if I found a full time job, all I needed to do was to give them two weeks notice. That was easy enough to handle. Besides, I’m sure it would be a fun experience. :D

Wow. I’m envious! I want to do web design for a bar! That would be like combining two things I love (drinking & all things internet) & getting paid for it!
Lucky you!

Congrats on the new jobs, and fanlistings!
It’s good that your new employer is willing to let you go so easily. Sometimes they make it hell for people to quit, but this seems like it should be OK.

Gabe is always super nice. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him many times since 2001 haha. I love all of Cobra though, they’re perfect.
Congrats on the jobs, and the fanlistings! I might have to join them if i get into joining fanlistings again! And i get really tipsy really easily when i drink so i feel you haha.

That’s so awesome that you got the new jobs and approved fanlistings! Good luck with everything. Like Andrea said, some employers just like cling to you like hell, but that’s good they’re letting you go.

Well, I hope the new job works out while you’re waiting on a more permanent position. I completely agree on loving what you do for a living. I am in the process of putting together a FL that I adopted.
Oh, Fresh Tune Friday is a new tradition I am starting over at my blog. Basically, every Friday I will be featuring a new song for my visitors to enjoy . I thought it would be a fun way for people to discover new music.
